How To Set Up Remarketing (And How It Works)

A quick guide on how to set up remarketing (or "retargeting") in Adline, and a bit about how it works.

First of all, remarketing is a very effective form of online advertising where you can show highly targeted ads to users who have already visited your website. Your past website visitors will see your ads when browsing the internet. You may have seen our own Google display ads following you anywhere you go… (Sorry!).

How much does remarketing cost? Remarketing is very cost-effective because the audience is not as big as normal advertising. We're only storing visitor data 30 days back in time. In other words, retargeting customers that have already purchased from you is not expensive at all.

Here's how to set it up:

  • Set up a new dedicated campaign for remarketing. We don't want to mix up a normal campaign with a retargeting campaign.
  • Go to the "Remarketing" tab inside your campaign.
  • Select "Use remarketing".
  • With this setting, we're retargeting all the people that have visited your website during the last 30 days.
    • In other words, you don't need to choose specific pages.
  • We're also automatically retargeting people that have watched 20% or more of your video ad.
    • We do this because this audience has shown very good engagement and might be interested in what you have to offer.
